The Omron HEM-780 Blood Pressure Monitor has 2 components - The Upper Arm Cuff and the Digital Display Unit.
Morning Hypertension Alert was introduced with this model.
When the Blood Pressure level is elevated for a couple of hours after waking up, this is known as Morning Hypertension. It is critical to detect this because a number of heart attacks and strokes may occur during this time.
Comfit Cuff and IntelliSense
IntelliSense and the Comfit Cuff are exclusive to Omron, and both come with the Omron HEM-780
Blood Pressure levels are monitored by IntelliSense technology which regulates the inflation levels in order to give accurate measurements with maximum comfort. The cuff automatically deflates after the measurement is recorded.
It is easy to fit the Comfit cuff without any help as it is pre-formed. Because the cuff has markings on it, correct fitting is easy. The cuff is designed to fit a large range of arm sizes. It will accomodate between nine and seventeen inches circumference.
Display Unit
The Omron HEM-780 Digital Unit has a sloping bezel front with a large Display for ease of reading. Measurements shown on the display include Systolic (measured during heartbeats), Diastolic (measured between heartbeats) and Heartbeat Rate.
Averaging
Although Omron Blood Pressure Monitors are extremely accurate, the Omron HEM-780 increases the readings accuracy by adding 2 Averaging Modes
TruRead Mode captures 3 readings, each one a minute apart. The display unit will deflate the cuff between measurements. After all 3 measurements are stored, the average is displayed.
Single Read Mode is based on three recent readings taken less than 10 minutes apart. The average of these is displayed. The Average symbol shows that the reading is a combined measurement.
2 Users plus Guest
The Omron HEM-780 will retain Blood Pressure measurements for 2 people. There are 84 measurement locations for each user and each reading includes the Time and Date.
When all the 84 locations have readings stored in them, the oldest records is overwritten. (you need to make a note of any data you want to retain, before it is overwritten) It will also store 8 weeks of AM and PM average measurements..
Guest Users can be measured, however, the readings are not retained.
The Omron HEM-870 is powered by 4 "AA" batteries or an AC Adaptor. We suggest you save the batteries for using the unit outside of your home and use the AC Adaptor indoors.
